Ed Hamer
Journalist based in Devon
Ed Hamer is a freelance journalist specialising in agricultural globalisation issues. He graduated in Agricultural Development in 2005 specialising in agroecology and peasant economics in both East Africa and Jamaica. Following his graduatoin he received funding to complete a six-month investigation into the impacts of globalisation on Campesino communities in Chiapas, southern Mexico. His findings were detailed in a report to the UK Tropical Agriculture Association in 2006. Ed now writes full-time for The Ecologist on issues relating to agricultural globalisation and food security, his published pieces have also appeared in; Resurgence, Permaculture Magazine and Farmers World Network
