Sille Storihle
Barselgrad, based in Kvam, Norway
I am a bachelor student of Fine Arts at the Art Academy of Trondheim.
I am growing interested in art being functional and socially engaged. With my ongoing project Barselgrad, a collaboration with Tormod Carlsen, I am exploring art being situated outside an art institution, in a small village in a space of transition.
The project takes place in between the loss of the public school and between the future use of the building in Fykse. I believe in art being a space outside a white cube, drawing different aspects of everyday life into an expanded art context. I find dialog and exchange of knowledge as key pillars that will follow my further practice as an artist. Together with developing a more public practice I am working with drawing and graphic design. This is also taking into the public practice and current research of the Fykse surroundings. See images underneath.
