I’m fascinated by the way people work together to make a living and a survival in often difficult circumstances in the harsh nature at times. I gathered old black and white photos of farming situations and portraits of people and projected those images on a big rock in Fykse. The idea was to merge the strong characteristics of the people with the strong solid stone. The pictures are floating like live paintings on the rough texture of the rock and the images integrate together with the material. It is painterly and has a 3rd dimension to it, at the same time the image changes with the viewpoint, as you go closer you see more clearly the 3 dimensions of the stone and how the picture is changed by it.
