Morsekode
Sille Storihle Trond Nicholas Perry and Will Foster
The idea of morse code has followed the Bluss project.
It started out as an idea for a publicity stunt and was then taken into the Bluss radio advert. The sound of -… .-.. ..- … … (BLUSS) became an undertone for the project.
A cryptic code that we ourselves where not able to translate.
By the beginning of the two week process we (Sille Storihle and Will Foster) had the morse rhythm already playing in our heads and where soon joined by Trond Nicholas Perry to develop a large scale intervention in the landscape. Working together with
ex-morse-coding Fykse neighbor Ingrid Klyve a light morse message was created.
On the night event a boat out on the fjord sent messages to Ingrid placed at a desk on the end of the dock, she then translated the flashing messages and read them out to the audience through a microphone. The sentences that where decoded where related to Fykse - facts, folk law, stories, memories and quotes that have emerged throughout our time living and working in the village.
