// Monymusk Map Giving //

performance // 5 hours // Monymusk, Aberdeenshire

In 2005 / 2006 I took on the pARTner Residency with the SSW and Monymusk Primary School. During the three-month residency I encouraged the pupils to re-examine their surrounding using drawing workshops, study tours of the village and interviews with local residences. The outcome of these was Monymusk Interviews and Monymusk Map 2006. Five copies of the Map were produced and they were lodged into collections in Monymusk, in the Grant Estate Collection and the Monymusk School Collection, Aberdeen at the Macaulay Institute, Lumsden at the SSW and The Royal Commission on Ancient Historic Monuments Scotland in Edinburgh. I wanted the children to be able to access the map both now and later in their lives and for that reasons much of the residency was spent in securing the Monymusk Map 2006 in public archives. Monymusk Map Giving was a day that the children gave the map to each of the archives. and toured around Monymusk House and signed the map.
