BLUSS - eit LysSTEIF p Fykse gathered seven international artists at Fykse school for a two-week period. Their intention was to research, discuss, collaborate, develop and produce new works within the Fykse community for the Bluss night event which would take place on the 19th of April. The aim was that the art works (be it site specific installations, performances or interactive events) were to be produced within the two week period while the artists were resident in Fykse. During this time the artists engaged with the people who live and work in the area, dug into the history, explored trades, lifestyles, traditions, politics and landscape. Throughout the project group meetings were held, this was a time for talking ideas, updating each other with research and findings, helping each other out, sharing skills and knowledge. On the 19th. April a regional audience of 450 attended the artistic light-walk throughout Fykse. That same evening, local contributors - Hardangermeny, Gamlastovo gardsrestaurant and Bygdalarm offered a varied program of food, film, lectures and music. Bluss facilitated interactions between old landscapes and new art; between artists and the local community; between the public and Hardanger.
