GSA Degree Show Rennie Macintosh Building Glasgow, Scotland June 2004

I gave space to ‘The Nellery’, where an artist from outside the art establishment of the school was given the opportunity to trespass into the elite academic framework of the Degree Show in the Mackintosh building at Glasgow School of Art. The production of ‘The Nellery’, and its re-contextualisation as part of my Degree Show, developed in a similar way to other projects (e.g Cabin Exchange); initiated through dialogue with the artist. ‘The Nellery’ reverses characteristics of my previous work; a self-taught artist is given space within the professional and academic context, in contrast to professional practitioners utilising public space.
